Golf Month Launch in Parliament

The Sports Minister, Rt Hon David Evennett MP, attended the launch of National Golf Month in Parliament today (27 April). It was held on Speaker’s Green and there were a number of activities throughout the day, including putting and hitting into the nets.

Celebrating Shakespeare

On Saturday 23 April the nation will mark 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare. To celebrate the quatercentenary year, there are a wide range of events taking place in 2016 both in the UK and around the globe, including public performances, exhibitions, and creative activities.

Evennett welcomes major package of reforms to tax, pensions and savings

From today (6 April), people who reach retirement age will receive the new State Pension, with the full rate set at £155.65 per week. Over 75% of women and over 70% of men will benefit in the first 15 years of the new State Pension, and by 2030 more than three million women stand to gain an average of approximately £550 extra per year as a result of these changes.
