October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is a worldwide annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. Throughout October, a number of charities aim to get as many people as possible involved in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

Rt Hon David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, attended the Conservative Party Conference with local activists in Birmingham this week. He listened to many speeches in the main hall, attended a variety of fringe meetings, and met with a number of organisations.
Bexley Parkrun celebrated the 12th birthday of Parkrun with a Saturday run in Danson Park (1/10) organised by Event Director Keith Dungate. Rt.Hon.David Evennett MP was present to start the run off, and meet and congratulate participants at the finishing post.

Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, was the guest speaker at the Bexleyheath and Crayford Ladies Luncheon. The event was held at the Bexleyheath Conservative Club on Thursday 29 September.
The Post Office, which was located in the Mace Store in Crayford Road, closed following an issue with its lease. The Post Office have advised Mr Evennett that: “there are a number of interested local businesses who are going through the application process”.
On Friday morning (16 September) there was a commemoration of the opening of Crayford railway station 150 years ago in 1866. Southeastern arranged coffee and cakes for commuters using the station.
